Enter Into The Joy Of Your MASTER…

“Well done, good and trustworthy slave; you have been trustworthy in a few things, I will put you in charge of many things; enter into the joy of your master.” – Matthew 25:23.

Ben, a priest, was once filling the pulpit at a small church, when he was asked to conduct a funeral of an 80-year-old parishioner, Albert. Something he had never done before and was scared “half to death.”

Since Ben had never met the deceased man and knew nothing about him, he asked members of the congregation in attendance at the funeral if they would speak a kind word or two about Ben. Silence. Nobody said a word.

So Ben said, "Many of you knew Albert for a long time. Isn't there someone who can say something nice?"

After a long pause a voice from the back of the room said, "Well, his brother was worse."

Hmmm … not a very nice way to be remembered.

Have you ever given any thought as to what people would be saying about you at your funeral, or be written on your tombstone? I would like to think that one thing they should say about me would be: "He/she was real good man/woman and a faithful follower of Jesus Christ."

Why not we give this question some serious thought ourself? If we should die tomorrow, what would we like to be said about us? Would it be gratifying or would it be disappointing?

As Michael Josephson, a professor said:

“If you want to know how to live your life, think about what you’d like people to say about you after you die – and live backwards.”

In other words we ought to make sure we are living today in harmony with what we want said about us when we are gone.

On that glorious day, if we wish to enter into the joy of our Master, let us live a life worthy of being in His presence by:

First:

Loving the Lord our God with all our heart and with all our soul and with all our mind and with all our strength.

Second:

“Loving our neighbor as yourself. There is no commandment greater than these.” – Mark 12:30-31…and???

Stay Blessed!
