Spontaneously Generous.

We make a living by what we get, but we make a life by what we give. You can give without loving, but you cannot love without giving. Are you fueled with this generosity?

This is a short story but has a strong message that shows how much greater it is to bless someone else even if we have to give up something that we hold dear to our heart.

A wise woman who was traveling in the mountains found a precious stone in a stream.

The next day she met another traveler who was hungry, and the wise woman opened her bag to share her food. The hungry traveler saw the precious stone and asked the woman to give it to him. She did so without hesitation.

The traveler left, rejoicing in his good fortune. He knew the stone was worth enough to give him security for a lifetime.

But a few days later he came back to return the stone to the wise woman. "I've been thinking," he said, "I know how valuable the stone is, but I give it back in the hope that you can give me something even more precious: 'Give me what you have within you that enabled you to give me the precious stone, so generously and so spontaneously.'”

Let us be givers just as God is a giver. He loves us so much, unconditionally, that He gave His only begotten Son, Our Lord Jesus Christ. (John 3:16).

If God did that for us then the least we could do is, love others and share His love by caring and sharing with others as He has done for us.

Luke 6:38 Jesus says "Give, and it will be given to you: good measurepressed downshaken together, and running over will be put into your bosom. For with the same measure that you use, it will be measured back to you."

May God give us that grace this Advent Season.

Blessed Day!
