Let His Light Shine....

With the escalating prices surely comes also the cost of all other commodities and services and we are experiencing this in the past many years. "The cost of living is going up but salaries aren’t.” This was the slogan of an Insurance advertisement.

We are already feeling the pinch of this gradual inflation. In this inflation life situation, there is a possibility of spiritual danger of we becoming less charitable and less concerned about the needs of the church and the needy.

A little girl was given two 1 dollar coins; one to buy sweets for herself and another to put in church box.

As she skipped along the street, she dropped one of the coins and it rolled into one of the water drain.

Looking into the drain, this cunning and clever girl said, “Oh my God, the coin for the church box is gone down the drain.” And she took the other coin to buy sweets for herself.

Think about this. God judges by what we give by what we keep.

In Luke 3:11 John the Baptist said, “He who has two tunics share with him who has none; and he who has food is to do likewise.”

1 Timothy 6:17-19 Paul said to Timothy, “Command those who are rich in this present world not to be arrogant nor to put their hope in wealth, which is so uncertain, but to put their hope in God, who richly provides us with everything for our enjoyment. Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. In this way they will lay up treasure for themselves as a firm foundation for the coming age, so that they may take hold of the life that is truly life.”

We are blessed more by what we give that by what we receive. We can’t take our money to heaven but we can send it ahead of us by giving it to the poor and needy here on earth.

Today we enter into the season of Advent (preparation of the coming of Jesus Christ).

Bear in mind: We I need Advent before Christmas as much as a mother needs pregnancy before giving birth.

"Let your light so shine before men, that they may see your good works and glorify your Father in heaven" – Matthew 5:16.

Stay Blessed!
