Behind A Smile....

When I smiled at them, they scarcely believed it; the light of my face was precious to them. – Job 29:24.

Do you ever wonder what people are feeling when they smile? Do they smile because they're happy or do they smile because they want people to believe they're happy? Maybe they smile because they want you to smile and be happy.

A smile can touch a person's life in ways you can never imagine. It's infectious and can cause a chain reaction. It can be memorable to someone you pass on the street or the mall or driving... and it only takes a split second to smile and forget, yet... to someone that needed it, it can last a lifetime. Maybe I should smile more often.

Jerry was a young man who was studying far away from home. He was disgusted with his failures and literally everything. He was frustrated with life as none of his friends were with him during his tribulations. As he could take it no more, one day gave up and headed up a mountain, up to the cliff to end his life.

On his way up he noticed a small boy playing. As he passed by, the boy looked up at Jerry and gave him a wide smile, ear to ear.

This smile from this little boy changed his life. He thought, after all, all are not the same. Taking a 180 degree turn and ran back home.

Everywhere Jerry went, he put up a smile, even to strangers. Surprisingly, no one ever looked at him strangely when he did this. Rather, they always got a softened look on their face and smiled back. Needless to say, he was never the same ever since that day…he lived his life positively to the fullest.

All of us have off days, and even if we're the happiest people on the planet we will generally admit to feeling a bit like life is pointless on the odd occasion.

Smile is infectious. Smile and the world smiles with you.

Remember:
"Our lives are the only Bible some people will ever read, so make sure yours makes the right impact on others.”

Today, smile at whoever you meet…You never know whose life you could brighten…

Stay Blessed!
